B’nai Brith Canada outraged by antisemitic blood libel in Canadian Muslim paper

TORONTO, January 7, 2010 – B’nai Brith Canada has condemned the Al-Ameen Post, an Islamic community newspaper, which recently ran an article accusing Jews of bringing into Israel “some 25,000 Ukrainian children” in order to harvest their organs. The article was reprinted in its entirety from Press TV, the official mouthpiece of the terrorist-sponsoring Iranian regime. According to Al-Ameen’s website, its editorial board members are also the members of the British Columbia Muslim Association Executive Board.

“This hideous blood libel against the Jewish community has absolutely no place in Canada or anywhere else,” said Frank Dimant, Executive Vice President of B’nai Brith Canada. “It should be a matter for public outcry that the B.C. Muslim Association, a major Canadian Islamic entity with eight mosques and government-funded schools under its auspices, is behind Al-Ameen and its ravings.

“It is a truly sad comment on the state of inter-communal affairs in Canada to see such despicable material being printed in Canada by an established Islamic organization. Every time we witness such vile propaganda, we wait and hope to hear a chorus of voices from within the Islamic community rise up and express their disapproval at the antisemitism and anti-Western sentiment emanating from elements of their own community.

“We call on the B.C. Muslim Association to publicly apologize for publishing this outrageous blood libel as if it were fact. It is time for all Canadians, especially those within the Muslim community, to refrain from the politics of division and stand up when virulent hatred is propagated within our great nation.”
